1.Perspective city
The theme of my city is an apple city; I based my city on apple products. In this project we did perspective. We had to first right down a list of cities. We then choose whether to draw in 1 or 2 point perspective. I choose two point perspective. My city was an ape product city. Two clock towers and iPhones and a MacBook. The road was made to look look like a mac book keyboard. I do not think any more instruction would ensure anymore success. I think that what would make this thing is better is if i did it several times so i would learn from experience. This is because from experience your skills become more refined.
2.Black and White project
I think the Black and white project was the least successful. For this project we drew 8 different thumbnails. Then we did two final drafts, which we then had to choose which one to use. After choose which one to use we traced it onto wax paper. After that we traced it onto black paper. Then I cut out the parts that were supposed to be white. Then finally glued the black parts onto the white piece of paper. I think that what made this project the worse out of all the others was my cutting skills and lack of time. It wasn't successful because i missed a few days and was behind and i feel like my cutting was rushed and it didn't end up looking very clean. If i were to have had more time i think it would of ended up looking a little better and cleaner.
3. 3D objects and Printmaking project
In this project we used pastels to shade. We always used black and white, and you would choose three others. One would be your light, the second one would be your medium, and your third would be your dark. After we choose our colors we practiced shading over different colors by shading one of the other several times. Once we got to the final project we put them on three different levels and shade the shapes in different colors. After we were done with shading the shapes we shaded the background in to two different colors that were different from each other. These techniques were things i've never done before so it showed what i have learned when doing this project. i think I grew by being able to give a 3D aspect to objects, which was not able to do before.
I wasn't really fond to the print but my two final sketches i thought showed my progression as an artist. I thought i drew this one very well and had nice detail. I was able to give it a nice background. I think i grew in drawing and being able to give a nice scene to my drawings. I also think i drew my animals well and they looked realistic when previously they did not.
4. Landscape painting
If i had to connect with any of my artwork it would be this one. I have a connection to this one because i took the picture myself. Then i had to make my own interpretation of it onto the canvas. So i created art from something i saw. Its cool that my own twist on what my picture was. Instead of the leaves being green i gave more color to the painting by adding red and yellow leaves, making the trees pop out at you more than it would if it matched the grass. I also thought that making the sky was cool the end result made it actually look cool. That is why i had a connection to this project.
5.Favorite medium
My favorite medium to use was paint. Paint is my favorite because you can interact more with the colors in it. You can make your own colors. You can also add different shades of colors. You can add tints to the colors as well. If you paint the colors right you can really make the colors pop at the person looking at the painting. There are several things use can use paint for. You can add color to something you've made. You can paint a picture that you have or took. Or you can just paint from your imagination or just what you feel like. That is why paint is my favorite medium.
